The Philharmonic Wind Orchestra serves to cultivate the symphonic repertoire for wind orchestra. The focus is on contemporary wind literature. Students in the master's degree program in wind ensemble conducting have the opportunity to gain conducting experience with the ensemble. In addition to individual rehearsal phases, a concert project is carried out each year. Close cooperation with the Nordbayerischer Musikbund e.V. and the Wind Band Association Vorspessart provides a welcome link to amateur music-making in Franconia.
