The HfM Würzburg offers a variety of degree programmes for a wide range of musical professions with artistic, pedagogical and scientific orientation. To this end, all levels of education are represented: Early PreCollege, undergraduate bachelor's and teacher training programs, postgraduate master's programs, and the master class in artistic subjects. In addition, a doctorate can be pursued in cooperation with a university.
Continuation of studies begun at another university of music is possible, as is an internal change to another course of study or taking up a double course of study. Upon application, study contents from the first study programme can be recognized and, if necessary, a placement in a higher semester can be made.
A prerequisite for admission to all degree programmes is the successful completion of an aptitude test. In addition, if there is free capacity, it is also possible to take up guest studies in the core subjects or to attend individual courses as a guest student for a fee.
The university points out that for all bachelor's and master's degree programmes that have not yet been accredited, the fact that the respective degree programme has not yet been accredited may be associated with disadvantages in terms of remuneration when taking up employment in the municipal civil service outside Bavaria.
The university is working intensively to accredit bachelor's and master's degree programmes that have not yet been accredited.
