The Bavarian Virtual University (vhb) is a joint institution for strengthening cross-university digital teaching. All Bavarian state and state-recognized universities and universities of applied sciences as well as four art colleges are organized as partners in this network. They support the vhb in terms of ideas, strategy and content: the 36 supporting universities ARE the vhb.
The supporting universities develop and offer various teaching and learning formats via the vhb, which can be used flexibly in terms of location and time. This complements and expands the teaching and study programs offered at all universities. The vhb's digital portfolio includes courses for curricular use during studies as well as teaching materials for preparing courses and openly accessible self-study courses. The involvement and commitment of the teaching staff at the supporting universities are crucial to this: they put the idea of cross-university teaching in Bavaria into practice.
