To be performed is a 15-20 minute musical lecture on the subject of

JONI MITCHELL

It is about being inspired by one of the greatest singer-songwriters of all time. The music of the Canadian singer, guitarist, composer and painter is characterized by various elements of folk, jazz, pop and rock. The line-up of artists with whom she has collaborated is correspondingly wide-ranging in style. Her influence on other important musicians - from Herbie Hancock to Prince and Norah Jones - can hardly be overestimated. Many cover versions of her songs have been created in this way.

Arrangements of Joni Mitchell songs do not necessarily have to be created for the jazz competition. Original compositions inspired by the artist's life and work are also welcome.

Performances must include some improvisation typical of jazz.

Judging will be:
