The percussion competition, endowed with prize money from percussion professor Hermann Schwander and his wife Renate Schwander, serves as a promotional opportunity and performance incentive for percussion students at the Nuremberg and Würzburg conservatories. The competition takes place in Nuremberg. Students who have already won the 1st prize are excluded from participating again.
