General regulations
- Previous 1st prize winners in the FMB competition are excluded from participating again in this subject.
- All laureates of the main competition are obliged to perform at the corresponding laureate concert on January 15, 2023 at the Konzerthaus Berlin.
- All nominees of the preliminary competition are also obliged to perform at the general laureate concert of the University of Music Würzburg.

Repertoire for the first round (max. 30 minutes)
1. Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy:
- Sonata A major op. 65 No. 3 or
- Sonata B major op. 65 No. 4 (optionally without Andante religioso) or
- Sonata in D major op. 65 No. 5 or
- Prelude and Fugue in E minor op. 35 No. 1 in transcription of own choice or
- Prelude and Fugue in B minor op. 35 No. 3 in transcription of own choice or
- Prelude and Fugue in F minor op. 35 No. 5 in transcription of own choice (if necessary, the competition office can assist in obtaining the sheet music for op. 35) or
- Overture to the oratorio "Paulus" op. 36 in transcription of own choice
2. Johann Sebastian Bach: (NBA or Breitkopf&Härtel)
- Prelude and Fugue D major BWV 532 or
- Toccata and Fugue F major BWV 540 or
- Prelude and Fugue in G major BWV 541 or
- Fantasy and Fugue in G minor BWV 542 or
- Prelude, Trio and Fugue C major BWV 545 or
- Prelude and Fugue in E minor BWV 548 or
- Toccata, Adagio and Fugue C major BWV 564 or
- Toccata and Fugue in E major BWV 566
3. n.n. (commissioned composition): Commissioned work for solo organ, maximum 6 minutes in length, to be submitted to the participants in November 2022
