Students are exmatriculated at the end of the semester in which they have passed the final examinations. They will receive a certificate of exmatriculation as proof.
Other reasons for exmatriculation
The exmatriculation is due to:
- personal application
- subsequent obstacle to enrollment
- final failure to pass an examination required by the examination regulations or a probationary period stipulated by the statutes or
- final failure to meet the requirements for registration for an examination for reasons for which the student is personally responsible, unless the student transfers to another degree programme or other studies
- no proof of payment of fees or contributions due at the time of re-registration
- no certificate of student health insurance registration at the time of re-registration
- abusive enrolment or re-registration
Possible reasons are also
- subsequent occurrence of grounds for refusal according to § 8 (refusal, withdrawal of enrolment) ImmaS
- Failure to comply with the obligation under § 3 ImmaS (obligation to cooperate) despite being informed of the consequences
- Violation of student obligations despite written warning of de-registration (in particular, failure to attend classes with compulsory attendance and failure to complete coursework)
If de-registration is carried out ex officio in accordance with this list, students will receive a written notification.
Can exmatriculation be requested by students?
Yes! This requires a written request from the student using the provided request form and providing all information necessary for the university. The request must be accompanied by confirmations of the return of borrowed items from the university library, instrument management and key management.
What is the effect of exmatriculation?
Exmatriculation upon application generally takes place at the end of the current semester, unless students apply for exmatriculation with immediate effect (please note receipt of application).
Exmatriculation by law and ex officio takes place with immediate effect.
What should be considered?
The exmatriculation ends the membership of students at the HfM Würzburg.
If the exmatriculation takes place before the beginning of or during the current semester, students must return the matriculation certificates and the student ID for the corresponding semester in their possession to the university immediately and without being asked.
The student fee will not be refunded.
