People with disabilities are under the special protection of the Basic Law and the Bavarian Constitution. Article 3 (3) of the Basic Law and Article 118 a sentence 1 of the Bavarian Constitution prohibit discrimination against people with disabilities.

The Representative Body for Severely Disabled Employees (SBV) represents the interests of severely disabled employees as well as employees of equal status and employees at risk of disability. They are responsible for their concerns and problems and are the point of contact for the department and the staff council.

"The representative body for severely disabled persons promotes the integration of severely disabled persons into the company or office, represents their interests in the company or office and provides them with advice and assistance." (Section 95 (1) sentence 1 SGB IX)

The SBV also supports all employees with applications for the determination of a disability, its degree and a severe disability and also with applications for equal treatment at the employment agency (Section 95 (1) sentence 3 SGB IX).
