Matthias-Grünewald-Gymnasium and PreCollege create joint project

Together with the ExzellenzZweig of the Matthias-Grünewald-Gymnasium, the PreCollege of the University of Music Würzburg organized a four-day chamber music course to offer young musicians the opportunity to gain and try out additional experience in various chamber music areas and instrumentations. A total of nineteen young instrumentalists took part in this year's project from February 20 to 23. The young people formed eleven ensembles.

In addition to the two university lecturers, Prof. Enikö Török (piano) and Simon Hanrath (saxophone), the conductor and violinist Helmuth Reichel Silva was also invited as a guest lecturer. A novelty of this year's course was the additional offer of improvisation, which took place in small and large ensembles. Anne Riegler and Prof. Tobias Usbeck encouraged the young instrumentalists to search for different ideas, themes and sounds in order to make music freely and yet together.

A final concert, in which the developed works and improvisations were presented to the participants and teachers, musically rounded off the successful and very inspiring chamber music course.
