Horn student to take up new post from the 2026/27 season onwards

Martin Reiser, a horn student in Prof. Christoph Eß’s class at the Würzburg University of Music, will begin his probationary year as 4th/2nd horn at the Meiningen State Theatre on 27 August 2026.

Reiser began his studies with Prof. Christoph Eß in 2021. He has already gained extensive orchestral experience during his training: in 2023, he completed an internship at the Mainfrankentheater in Würzburg, followed by a further internship with the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra in 2024.

Martin Reiser is currently an academician with the Nuremberg State Philharmonic. He also regularly performs as a guest musician with renowned orchestras, including the BR Radio Orchestra and the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra.

He gained further artistic inspiration as a member of the ‘Zukunftsorchester’ of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra in 2025. As part of these engagements, he has already performed in internationally renowned concert halls such as the KKL Lucerne, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg.

By commencing his probationary year at the Meiningen State Theatre, Martin Reiser is continuing his artistic development and taking the next step on his path towards a professional orchestral career.
