The violinist Hazuki Katsukawa, a student in Prof. Korbinian Altenberger’s class, has successfully won the audition for a place on the orchestra academy as a first violinist with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra. The one-year orchestra academy programme begins in September 2026.
Hazuki Katsukawa successfully completed her Master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London last year. Since March 2026, she has been studying violin at the Würzburg University of Music (HfM) in Prof. Korbinian Altenberger’s class.
She gained valuable orchestral experience in 2025, amongst other things, as concertmaster of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival Orchestra and as a fellow in the Philharmonia Orchestra London’s Side by Side programme. Having successfully auditioned for the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, she is now continuing her artistic journey at a renowned orchestral academy.
