Philipp Hubert wins 1st prize in the Kocsis competition

Philipp Hubert, a piano student in Prof. Bernd Glemser's class, achieved an outstanding success at the end of his Erasmus study year in Hungary: He was awarded the shared 1st prize at the renowned Zoltán Kocsis Competition of the Kocsis Hauser Foundation in Budapest.
The competition is aimed at pianists who live or study in Hungary and is associated with prize money of around 5,000 euros as well as possible concert engagements.

Philipp Hubert was born in Würzburg in 2003 and received his first musical training in the boys' choir of the Würzburg Cathedral Choir. He began playing the violin at an early age and switched to the piano in 2011. In 2014, he was accepted into the PreCollege of the University of Music Würzburg as a junior student, where he was taught by Ulrike Goldbeck. He has been studying piano with Prof. Bernd Glemser since the winter semester 2021/22 and has since been a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation
In 2024, Philipp Hubert was also accepted into the "Yehudi Menuhin - Live Music Now" funding program and won the Yamaha Scholarship Competition. For the academic year 2024/25, he will continue his studies at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest with Prof. János Balázs and Prof. László Borbély.
