Clara Schuricht and Danie Hill Ameida win positions with the Bielefeld Philharmonic Orchestra

Two students from Prof. Christoph Eß 's horn class were able to look forward to permanent orchestral positions with the Bielefeld Philharmonic Orchestra at the start of the 2025/26 season:

Clara Schuricht has been studying for a master's degree in horn at the University of Music Würzburg since the 2024/25 winter semester. At the beginning of the 2025/26 season, she took up a permanent position as 4th/2nd horn in Bielefeld.
Clara Schuricht received her first horn lessons at the age of eleven and was an early winner of the Jugend musiziert competition. After studying with Markus Bruggaier (Hanns Eisler Hochschule Berlin), she completed her bachelor's degree at the University of Music and Dance Cologne with Prof. Paul van Zelm. She also gained orchestral experience in temporary contracts and as a substitute, including with the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra.

Daniel Hill Almeida, born in Australia in 2002, has been studying for a master's degree in horn at the University of Music Würzburg since October 2023. At the start of the 2025/26 season, he also took up a permanent position as 2nd/3rd horn with the Bielefeld Philharmonic Orchestra.
He completed his bachelor's degree in 2022 at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University in Brisbane with Assoc. Prof. Peter Luff. He gained extensive orchestral experience during his studies, including with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Göttingen Symphony Orchestra, Theater Regensburg and Mainfranken Theater Würzburg.
