Wei Lin wins in Bucharest and receives invitation to Italy

Wei Lin (right) won first prize at the 7th Bucharest International Conducting Competition

Wei Lin, a student of Professor Ari Rasilainen's conducting class, was awarded 1st prize and the Jury Award at the 7th Bucharest International Conducting Competition. He thus prevailed among a large number of top-class young conductors.

Wei Lin conducted Johannes Brahms' Symphony No. 4 as part of the final gala concert for the prizewinners at the renowned Athenaeum Bucharest - a concert that was completely sold out and received a standing ovation from the audience.

Another milestone in Wei Lin's young career is the invitation to the final audition of the Riccardo Muti Italian Opera Academy, which will take place in Tokyo from September 1 to 15, 2025. Maestro Riccardo Muti will then select three to five active participants who will work under his personal direction and perform Giuseppe Verdi's opera "Simon Boccanegra" at a final concert.

The University of Music Würzburg warmly congratulates Wei Lin on these extraordinary successes and wishes him continued success in his future endeavors!
