International concert and choir tours

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) supports concert and choir trips by groups of German students abroad as well as by groups of international students to Germany. In addition to the performance of concerts at the German or foreign university (if possible together with students of the respective host institution), the establishment and maintenance of partnerships between German and foreign universities is an important funding objective. In addition, the imparting of subject-related knowledge through appropriate visits to the university and the encounter between German and international students, musicians and academics are to play a central role. Last but not least, the concert tour should provide an insight into the cultural and political life in the respective host country.

Funding

Within the framework of the funding program, groups of at least 5 and a maximum of 50 students and doctoral candidates who are duly enrolled at a German university or a university abroad can apply for funding for a concert or choir tour. The group can also consist of participants from different universities. A lecturer can also be sponsored as an accompanying person.

The grant includes a flat-rate accommodation and mobility allowance per day per participant. A maximum of 12 days (including arrival and departure days) can be funded.

The funding amounts to

  • 30 € per day for concert and choir trips of German students to EU countries as well as to Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland or Turkey
  • 45 € per day for concert and choir trips of German students to all other countries
  • 50 € per day for concert and choir trips of foreign students to Germany
