Fabian Mehling, a Master’s student in Prof. Andreas Kraft’s trombone class, has been accepted onto the Oldenburg State Theatre ’s one-year orchestra academy for the coming season.
Fabian Mehling began his Bachelor’s degree in the winter semester of 2020 at the Würzburg University of Music in Prof. Andreas Kraft’s class and successfully completed it in 2024. Since then, he has been continuing his studies on the Master’s programme under Prof. Andreas Kraft.
He gained extensive orchestral experience whilst still a student. He served as a temporary first and second trombonist with the Lake Constance Philharmonic (formerly the South-West German Philharmonic, Constance), undertook an internship as part of the Bavarian Orchestra Academy with the Hof Symphony Orchestra, played as a substitute on first trombone with the Thuringia Philharmonic Orchestra Gotha-Eisenach, and played first and second trombone in the Black Forest Chamber Orchestra, which comprises, amongst others, members of the SWR Symphony Orchestra.
This summer, Fabian Mehling will also be part of the stage and interval music programme at the Bayreuth Festival. Having been accepted into the Orchestra Academy of the Oldenburg State Theatre, he is now continuing his successful artistic career at a renowned theatre.
