Prof. Andreas Kraft’s trombone class is delighted to announce yet another outstanding achievement: Jonas Kopf will join the Augsburg State Theatre’s Orchestra Academy from the coming season.

Jonas Kopf studied for a Bachelor of Music (artistic) at the Würzburg University of Music (HfM) from 2020 to 2024 under Prof. Andreas Kraft and Matyas Veer. Since October 2024, he has been continuing his studies on a postgraduate Master’s programme at the HfM.

Since September 2025, he has been a member of the Orchestra Academy of the Staatskapelle Halle, where he has been entrusted with the important role of section leader of the trombone section (1st, 2nd and 3rd trombone).

Alongside his studies, Jonas Kopf has gained extensive orchestral experience as a temporary player with the Augsburg Philharmonic Orchestra (Augsburg State Theatre), the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra and the Staatskapelle Halle, as well as during an internship at the Mainfrankentheater in Würzburg. He also took part in the Schloss Hundisburg Summer Music Academy (2024 and 2025) and the Summer Music Academy for Chamber Music in Southern Germany (2024).

His other musical engagements have included the Black Forest Chamber Orchestra, the South German Philharmonic Orchestra Esslingen, the Baden-Württemberg Youth Symphonic Wind Orchestra, the Baden-Württemberg State Youth Orchestra and the Rotary Youth Symphony Orchestra Furtwangen–Triberg.
