From November 18 to 20, 2022, the 10th Bertold Hummel Competition was held at the University of Music Würzburg under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hans Maier (former Bavarian State Minister for Education and Culture). In 2022, it was aimed at trumpet students from German-speaking and other European countries. Due to the consistently high quality of the competition entries, the jury (Prof. Dr. Christoph Wünsch, Würzburg, Prof. Frits Damrow, Zurich, Prof. Jürgen Ellensohn, Würzburg, Prof. Andreas Lackner, Innsbruck, Prof. Hannes Läubin, Munich) was faced with the difficult task of fairly weighting the differences in performance, some of which were only discernible in nuances, both after the first and especially after the second elimination round. The following prizes were awarded:

1st prize (€3,000): Patricia Vörös, Hungary (Folkwang University of the Arts, Essen)
2nd prize (€2,000): Oles Burakl, Ukraine (University of Music Würzburg)
3rd prize (€1,000): David Aguilar Troyano, Spain (Folkwang University of the Arts, Essen)

In the course of a matinee on Sunday, November 20, the prize winners delighted the numerous audience.
