The Russian accordionist Arseniy Strokovskiy, who has won many awards, beat numerous competitors in the DAAD competition and won the DAAD prize. In addition to his performance on the instrument, the evaluation also took into account his extensive social commitment.
Arseniy Strokovskiy began playing the accordion at the age of 5 and first studied at the Moscow State Schnittke Music Institute before moving to the University of Music Würzburg, where he completed his master's degree in 2019 in the class of Prof. Stefan Hussong. In 2023, he is expected to complete his master class studies, also in the class of Prof. Stefan Hussong.
A milestone in his artistic resume was winning the Klingenthal Accordion Competition in 2016, which was followed by his first performance in the Berlin Philharmonic Hall.
