After four years of intensive cooperation, the nationwide joint project Netzwerk 4.0 der Musikhochschulen came to an end at the end of 2025. The University of Music Würzburg was one of 18 participating universities of music and was actively involved in the development of digital solutions for studying and teaching.
The aim of the project, funded by the "Strengthening university teaching through digitalization" programme of the Foundation for Innovation in University Teaching (StIL), was to jointly test and document innovative approaches and make them usable across federal states - especially in the context of artistic and musical education.
The University of Music Würzburg contributed to six of the eleven sub-projects - committed colleagues from teaching and administration were involved in the development processes with their expertise. The university was also present at the network's final conference, where two posters from the field of media education highlighted university perspectives on the topic of digital media and promoted exchange with other project participants.
By participating in the network, the University of Music Würzburg was able to provide numerous impulses: In cooperation with the teaching development working group, the conception of an onboarding format for new teachers was supported. Teachers were able to take part in further training and acquire the "Art of Teaching 4.0" teaching certificate. The establishment of the CareerCenterwas made possible by project funds. University event formats such as the Teaching Day, the Onboarding Days and workshops for lecturers and students were also supported and organized with funding from Network 4.0.
The concepts, materials and good practice examples developed as part of the network are still available at netzwerk-musikhochschulen.de/werke.
At the University of Music Würzburg, a teaching certificate program based on sub-project 3 is also being continued as part of the Bavarian University Teaching Certificate.
