Nastasja Link, a Master’s student in Prof. Herwig Zack’s violin class at the Würzburg University of Music, will take up a fixed-term post as first violin with the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne from August 2026.

Nastasja Link (born 2000) was born in Frankfurt am Main to German-Japanese parents and received her first violin lessons at the age of four. Following her studies with Prof. Pierre Amoyal at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, she has been studying at the Würzburg University of Music since 2020, initially on a Bachelor’s programme and, since 2023, on a Master’s programme with Prof. Herwig Zack.

As a multiple prize-winner at national and international competitions, she has been honoured at events including the Kloster Schöntal International Violin Competition and the Henri Marteau International Violin Competition. She has received artistic support through scholarships from the Brigitte and Wolfgang Künzel Foundation and the Friends of Young Musicians Foundation. She is currently a recipient of the Deutschlandstipendium.

She has also gained significant artistic inspiration from masterclasses with Prof. Ingolf Turban, Prof. Christian Altenburger and Prof. Lihay Bendayan.

Nastasja Link gained extensive orchestral experience as a trainee with the Staatskapelle Berlin during the 2022/23 season. Since April 2025, she has been playing in the first violins of the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra and the Deutsche Oper am Rhein on a fixed-term contract.
