Julius Steinbach (vocals), a student in Prof. Jochen Kupfer’s class at the Würzburg University of Music, has been accepted into the International Opera Studio at the Nuremberg State Theatre for the 2026/27 season.
Julius Steinbach gained his first musical experience as a member and later as a soloist with the Tölz Boys’ Choir. From a young age, he received a thorough vocal training there under, amongst others, Prof. Gerhard Schmidt-Gaden, Dr Clemens Haudum and Christian Fliegner.
He completed his bachelor’s degree under Prof. Dominik Wortig in Augsburg. Since October 2024, he has been studying at the Würzburg University of Music in the class of KS Prof. Jochen Kupfer. In the field of art song, he is mentored by Gerold Huber and Andrea Marie Baiocchi. Together with his duet partner Saori Iuchi, he was awarded the Encouragement Prize at the Serafin Art Song Competition.
Masterclasses with Michael Schade, Brigitte Lindner, Konstantin Krimmel and Johannes Martin Kränzle have further enriched his artistic training. Julius Steinbach is also a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Society of Würzburg.
