Simon Aringer, a student of Prof. Dominik Wagner at the University of Music Würzburg, successfully auditioned for the permanent position of principal double bass with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra on October 8, 2025.

Born in 2003, the musician previously studied with Ernst Weissensteiner in Graz and with Dorin Marc and Michail-Pavlos Semsis in Nuremberg. Since 2024, he has continued his studies under the direction of Dominik Wagner. Simon Aringer has performed as a soloist with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. He gained orchestral and chamber music experience with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna State Opera Orchestra, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and at Kronberg Academy. He has been sponsored by the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes since 2024.
