Nico Theo Quintet convinces in Burghausen

In 2018 Nico Theodossiadis founded the Nico Theo Quintet at the HfM Würzburg. Already in 2019, the band earned a prize at the jazz department competition and released his first album "Roots". Further awards followed.

Now the ambitious quintet managed to win the 2nd young talent award at the Burghausen Jazz Festival! The competition, which is part of the nationally and internationally highly regarded Burghausen Jazz Week, is a real challenge in view of the top-class field of participants, but at the same time a springboard for jazz musicians.

For the musical future of Nico Theodossiadis (saxophone, until 2021 class of Prof. Hubert Winter), Simon Schneid (guitar, until 2020 class of Michael Arlt), Jan-Peter Itze (piano, class of Tine Schneider) Michael Goldmann (bass, HfM Mainz) and Konrad Patzig (drums, class of Bastian Jütte), the success in Burghausen bodes well.

The concert was recorded by BR and is available in the Mediathek.
