At this year's national competition "Schulpraktisches Klavierspiel GROTRIAN-STEINWEG" at the Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar, Imke Hagedorn won the audience prize and Florian Jungkunz the special prize for outstanding synthesis of school practice and artistic interpretation. Both study music teaching at the HfM Würzburg.
About the competition
Improvisation is a challenge for some piano students: not everyone moves completely effortlessly on the keys outside of the notation. But especially for future music teachers, the skills of free improvisation as well as playing from the reed and the score are essential for a lively teaching of the subject matter.
The importance of these skills is emphasized every two years by the GROTRIAN-STEINWEG National Competition for Practical Piano Playing.
