"Today there is no mistaking it: Tianwa Yang is the strongest young violinist, far and wide," commented Eleonore Büning in the "Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung" (July 6, 2014). In 2014, she was awarded an ECHO Klassik as "Young Artist of the Year" as well as the Annual Prize of the German Record Critics. In 2015, she received another ECHO Klassik, this time as "Instrumentalist of the Year."

In Germany, Tianwa Yang has cooperated with orchestras such as the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne, the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin, the hr Symphony Orchestra, the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne, the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra, the German Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and the German State Philharmonic Orchestra Rhineland-Palatinate.

As for international orchestras, Tianwa Yang has performed with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. In North America, she has appeared with the authoritative orchestras in Vancouver, Baltimore, Seattle and Detroit, among others, and in Asia with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, among others.

She has worked with conductors such as Christoph Eschenbach, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Jaap van Zweden and Antoni Wit.

Festivals at which Tianwa Yang has made guest appearances include the Lucerne Festival, the Rheingau Music Festival, the Heidelberger Frühling, the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the Mozartfest Würzburg. She has also performed at the Berlin Philharmonie, Cologne Philharmonie, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Wigmore Hall London and Lincoln Center New York.

Tianwa Yang has an ongoing collaboration with the Naxos label. Award-winning recordings have appeared there, including a CD with the six solo sonatas by Eugène Ysaÿe, the complete recording of the violin works by Pablo Sarasate ("Diapason d'Or"), the complete works for violin and piano by Wolfgang Rihm ("Diapason d'Or"), and a complete recording of the works for violin and orchestra by Camille Saint-Säens.

Born and raised in Beijing, Tianwa Yang became the world's youngest performer to record Niccolò Paganini's 24 Caprices on CD at the age of 13 and was considered the "pride of China" in her home country. At the age of 16, she came to Germany on a special DAAD scholarship, thus laying the foundation for her career in Europe. Her artistic development was accompanied and significantly influenced by Lin Yaoji, Jörg-Wolfgang Jahn and Anner Bylsma.
