Michaela Schlotter

Pianist Michaela Schlotter studied with Prof. Kirsti Hjort and Prof. Erich Appel at the Würzburg University of Music and obtained her masterclass diploma in May 1998.
Today she has a busy concert schedule as a soloist and chamber music partner. She has performed with the piano duo Schlotter/ Ramming since 1992 and founded the "Trio Kallisto" together with violinist Sinn Yang and cellist Deanna Talens in 2017. Concert tours have taken her to Japan, Italy, Romania and the USA.
The pianist has a particular love of accompanying lieder. She has worked with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Reiner Hofmann, Helmut Deutsch and Graham Johnson on several occasions. She has made recordings with the soprano Diana Damrau and the bass-baritone Hanno Müller-Brachmann for Bayerischer Rundfunk, Deutschlandfunk and Studio Franken.
Michaela Schlotter is a guest at renowned festivals such as the Mozartfest Würzburg, the Kissinger Sommer, the Würzburger Bachtage and the Bronnbacher Musikfrühling.
A solo CD with works by Bach, Schumann and Ravel was reviewed in the "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" and presented on the Bavarian Radio programme "pour le piano" by Friedemann Leipold.
Her sympathy for bringing classical music to a young audience is demonstrated by her involvement in Christian Kabitz's musical children's projects. These include the family concerts at the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the children's operas as part of the Würzburg Mozart Festival and projects with the Heidelberg-Kirchheim children's choir.
She has taught piano at the Würzburg University of Music since 1998 and at the Matthias-Grünewald-Gymnasium music school in Würzburg since 2008 as part of the excellence programme founded there.
