Florian Öttl

Florian Öttl studied school music at the University of Music Würzburg and mathematics at the Universities of Würzburg and Caen from 2018 to 2025. He was a scholarship holder in the Global Teacher Education (GoTEd) project of the Professional School of Education Würzburg and was supported by the Deutschlandstipendium in the 2023/24 academic year. He received the Bavarian Culture Prize in 2024 for his final thesis entitled "Promoting creativity in music lessons with algorithmic composing".
Florian Öttl co-founded the student network "SchulMusikAustausch (SchMAus)" in 2021, was involved in the organization of several network meetings and has offered numerous workshops there, e.g. on the topics of body percussion, creativity in times of AI and algorithmic composing in music lessons. He was a two-time finalist in the University Competition for Music Education (HWMP) organized by the German Rectors' Conference and won second prize in 2024 with the project "Innovation in music teaching studies through student networking". He is also involved as a choirmaster, singer and flautist in various ensembles. Since February 2025, he has been a lecturer for special tasks in digital media education (school music) at the University of Music Würzburg and researches creative processes in music and mathematics lessons.
