Franziska Fuchs

Franziska Fuchs first studied music teaching at the HfM Würzburg, majoring in voice, and then took up classical voice studies with Prof. Monika Bürgener. Parallel to her studies, she directed various choirs in Würzburg, including Voice'n'Noise and the Ja!zzchor Würzburg. With the latter she won a 3rd prize in the category "Jazz-vocal et cetera - a capella" at the 8th German Choir Competition in Dortmund in 2010, as well as a scholarship for conductors from the German Music Council. As part of this scholarship she attended workshops with Peder Karlsson (Real Group, Perpetuum Jazzile), Bertrand Gröger (Jazzchor Freiburg), Michelle Weir, Jens Johansen (Vocal Line), Malene Rigtrup (Vocal Line), Morten Kjaer (M-Pact), Matthias Becker and Michael Betzner-Brandt.
Franziska Fuchs is engaged as a lecturer at the Federal Academy for Culture and Education, where she leads the in-service training in jazz and pop choir conducting (level B). In addition, she works as a "choir coach" in the field of rock/pop/jazz and as a voice coach, for example at the Maintal Singers' Association, the Bavarian Singers' Association and the Lower Saxony State Youth Choir.
Since the winter semester 2011/12, she has held a teaching position at the HfM Würzburg, which, in addition to teaching, also includes directing the university's rock, pop and jazz choir, ChorKraut. In 2012, the ensemble won 3rd prize in the category 'Jazz/Pop/Gospel A' at the choir competition held as part of the German Choir Festival in Frankfurt. Franziska Fuchs also received a special prize.
After conducting two youth choir workshops in the Sängerkreis Miltenberg, Franziska Fuchs decided in October 2011 to contribute more to the promotion of young choirs and took over the direction of the youth choir "Joy" in Bürgstadt.
