At international piano competitions he won the second prize at the "3rd Concorso Pianistico Internationale Paolo Denza" and at the "28th Concorso Pianistico Internationale Francesco Paolo Neglia" (both in Italy).

This was followed by concerts in Italy, France and Spain. Later concert tours took him to Stockholm, Riga, St. Petersburg, Vienna, Milan, Naples and Madrid, among others, as well as to 130 different cities in Germany so far.

Martin Dombrowski regularly gives concerts in several of these cities: for example, in Freiburg, where he has presented a new program every year since 2002 as part of a benefit concert. The net financial proceeds, which benefit health and socially disadvantaged children, now amount to more than ¼ million euros.

In recent years, he has been invited on four tours to China: piano recitals in a total of 36 metropolises have taken him all over the "Middle Kingdom". Between concerts, he additionally gave master classes in many of these cities.

Dombrowski frequently appears on television. In over 50 TV broadcasts so far, he has performed on ARD, ZDF, NDR, MDR, SDR as well as SAT1; also on RAI (Italy) and CCT (China).

He was engaged by the international TV station "Deutsche Welle" for three productions, which were broadcast to the USA, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and all European countries.

Dombrowski has produced CDs for tgf-records, DRW and - together with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra - for Ariola (Bertelsmann).

Currently, CD projects with the complete piano sonatas of Joseph Haydn, the complete piano sonatas of W. A. Mozart as well as a double CD with 50 piano etudes of the Romantic period are in preparation.

At the age of 29 Martin Dombrowski received a professorship at the University of Music in Würzburg, where he has been teaching ever since.
