Li Cong and Vladimir Stupnikov celebrate success in Spain

Vladimir Stupnikov | Li Cong

At the International Accordion Competition in Arrasate (Spain) students of the accordion class of Prof. Stefan Hussong won the second and third prize.

Eligible for this attractive competition were soloists from all over the world, regardless of their age. The elimination rounds were correspondingly large and highly competitive.

The competition goes back to an initiative of the Hauspoz Euskal Herriko Akordeoi Elkartea in 1975, when this accordion competition was also established. The aim was and still is to promote the accordion in the cultural scene. Since then, a solid structure has been created, which has helped the competition gain international renown and stabilized the promotion of young musicians, which the organizers are also committed to.

Li Cong, who was awarded the second prize in Arrasate, and Vladimir Stupnikov, winner of the third prize, began their studies at the University of Music Würzburg with the winter semester 2021/2022. Li Cong studies in the Meisterklasse, Vladimir Stupnikov in the Master's program.
