The harpsichordist devotes herself to unheard works by Gottlieb Muffat (1690-1770). The rediscovered harpsichord suites of the important Viennese composer, manuscripts of the Singakademie Berlin, were in Kiev as war booty and returned to Berlin only a few years ago. Gottlieb Muffat is considered the most important Viennese harpsichord composer of the 18th century. Naoko Akutagawa now presents her third and final CD of premiere recordings of Muffat's harpsichord suites, recorded in February 2021 at the former Cistercian monastery of Bronnbach near Wertheim (Baden). The recordings were made in co-production with Bayerischer Rundfunk.
Naoko Akutagawa is a lecturer for harpsichord at the HfM Würzburg. She first completed piano studies in Tokyo before switching to the harpsichord. Her harpsichord studies led her to the HfM Würzburg, where she studied in the class of Prof. Glen Wilson.
