With the beginning of the season, Sunghwan Kim (bass) from the class of Prof. Alexandra Coku (Master Opera Singing) started his engagement in the opera choir of the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden. The young singer convinced the selection committee at the audition for the coveted position and was chosen among numerous competitors for the position of 2nd bass in the opera choir.

Sunghwan Kim began his master's studies at the University of Music Würzburg in 2019. At his new place of study, he quickly became an integral part of university life, as well as cultural life outside of his studies. Most recently, Sunghwan Kim thrilled audiences and press as Gironimo in the university production of Cimarosa's'Il Matrimonio segreto' (summer semester 2021). At his new place of work in Wiesbaden, he will not be the only "Würzburger". At the Hessisches Staatstheater, GMD Patrick Lange, among others, also looks back on studies at the University of Music Würzburg.
