Hancheng Guo has been awarded second prize at the conducting competition in Eskişehir

Hancheng Guo won second prize at the 1st Eskişehir International Gürer Aykal Orchestra Conducting Competition, which took place in Eskişehir (Turkey) from 8 to 15 June 2026. The prize is worth €5,000 and also includes a concert engagement with the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra.

Hancheng Guo, born in China in 2000, has been studying for a Master’s degree in orchestral conducting at the HfM Würzburg under Prof. Ari Rasilainen since October 2024. Prior to this, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in conducting at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.

As early as 2025, he was awarded second prize at the International Nicola Zoraqi Conducting Competition in Tirana. He has worked with orchestras in China, Germany, Romania, the Czech Republic, Albania, Bulgaria and Turkey, and has also been involved in opera productions.
