Today and tomorrow, on December 9 and 10, 2024, the University of Music Würzburg's annual internal Seraphin competition will take place. This year, prize money totaling up to €9,000 will be awarded in the vocal performance category. In the first round today, on December 9, 2024, 16 song duos will compete until 6:00 pm in the Theater in der Bibrastraße; the final round will take place tomorrow, December 10, 2024, from 12:00 - 6:00 pm, also in the Theater in der Bibrastraße. Admission is free and open to the public.

The Seraphin Competition was launched by Prof. Jörg Joachim Metzger, former professor of cello at the University of Music Würzburg, and Margaret Sheila Metzger-Braidech in 2018 to provide financial support for vocal performance and cello students.
