After Natalie Schmalhofer, violin student in the class of Prof. Herwig Zack, had won one of the coveted academy positions of the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig last year, she has now achieved another success. She will take up a permanent tutti position in the Gewandhaus Orchestra's 2nd violins starting in September. The violinist, who has already won numerous competitions, has been studying at the HfM Würzburg since 2018. This means that there are two female violinists from Würzburg in the violins of the Gewandhaus Orchestra. In addition to Natalie Schmalhofer, Anna Wiedemann, who has held a permanent position there since September 2021, also plays here.
