The award was given for the CD 'Prokofiev: Violin Concertos 1 & 2', which was produced in collaboration with the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna under the direction of Jun Märkl.

This is already the second choice for Tianwa Yang as 'Instrumentalist of the Year' after 2015 (Echo Klassik).

The award ceremony will take place on October 9 at the Konzerthaus on Berlin's Gendarmenmarkt. ZDF will broadcast the gala with a time delay at 10:15 pm.
