Johannes Schmack has secured a permanent position as 2nd/4th horn at the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg. The horn player has been studying at the University of Music Würzburg (artistic, horn major) since the 2018 winter semester and is currently in the final semester of his master's degree with Prof. Christoph Eß.
He initially gained orchestral experience in various internships and temporary contracts at the Staatstheater Mainz and the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg until he was permanently employed by the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra in 2023.
Further temporary positions took him to the Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland Pfalz Ludwigshafen and the WDR Funkhausorchester.
The Mainfranken Theater Würzburg is one of the most important cultural institutions in the region. With sections in musical theater, drama, ballet and concert, the theater has shaped the cultural life of the city and the surrounding area for many years. The orchestra enjoys an excellent reputation and offers its members a wide range of artistic development opportunities as well as a broad repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary music.
