Today, Thursday 16 November, Bayernwerk AG (Bayernwerk) is once again awarding the Bavarian Culture Prize. In the science category, 33 graduates and doctoral students from Bavarian colleges, universities and art academies will receive the coveted prize. Imke Hagedorn, a graduate of the University of Music and Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, will also be honoured for her academic achievements.
Born in Fürth, she is being honoured for her admission thesis entitled "Visions of music teaching in schools from the perspective of student teachers" in the music teaching degree programme at high schools, in which she addressed the question of what future music teachers expect from good music teaching in schools. This work shows that prospective teachers want a high proportion of practical work, the inclusion of pupils in lesson planning and the use of a variety of teaching methods. According to the results of their work, practical teaching experience in classes can also help music students to further develop their teaching.
Dr. Egon Leo Westphal, CEO of Bayernwerk AG, has the right words for this year's award winners: "We are living in a time of new tasks and challenges. To meet these challenges, we all need the courage to embrace new ideas and change. Alongside art, science provides us with decisive impetus. This year's prizewinners from the world of higher education once again deliver a firework display of science. That is impressive. With our award, we want to motivate all of them to continue on their ambitious path."
The Bavarian Culture Award ceremony will take place at 7 pm in the Eisbachstudios in Munich and will be broadcast live on e. g. TV Mainfranken.
