The Global Groove Orchestra (GGO) , under the direction of Anja Günther, performed its first internal concert at the university in February as part of the artistic and educational class evening. The first part of the evening featured solo and ensemble pieces performed by students of instrumental and vocal pedagogy. The second part of the evening was performed by the Global Groove Orchestra. The stylistically diverse repertoire included traditional pieces from the Arabic, Eastern European-Jewish, Breton and Scandinavian cultural areas. The great enthusiasm of the 20 young musicians and the high intensity of their interpretation sparked the audience and led to spontaneous dance interludes and the desire for encores.

The concert was recorded by Nikolaus Jira (Nikolaus Recordings), Mateusz Phouthavong and Tom Hofmann. This resulted in an image film of the Global Groove Orchestra, which has been online since the end of March.

The next concert of the Global Groove Orchestra will take place on July 11, 2025 at 7.30 pm in the Chamber Music Hall of the University of Music Würzburg.
