Individual educational success - Institutional added value

The winter semester 2023/24 at the HfM is all about diversity and variety. The project "Diversity Days", which is funded by the initiative "Diversity at German Universities" of the German Rectors' Conference, will start on 06 November with a kick-off event at which the programmes, projects and initiatives already existing at the HfM will be made visible.

In addition to a kick-off and closing event, 5 highlight events will take place: "Power Structures at Music Universities", "University Café", "Diversity and Improvisation", "Music of the Countries" and "Future Talk: HfM 2050".

In addition to two intercultural evenings and an improvisation workshop series initiated by the AG Improvisation, there are various pilot projects, such as the university tandem and the Rhapsody in School initiative. The latter is carried out in cooperation with the HfM's female professors programme.

All members of the university - teachers, students and administrative staff - are cordially invited to the events of the "Diversity Days" and are called upon to participate in the development of concepts that will sensitise people to diversity at the University of Music in the long term, raise awareness of the potential of "lived diversity" and also bring these enriching aspects to the public.
