During her visit to the summer meeting of the Bavarian Association of Art Colleges, the Head of the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts, Ms Stephanie Jacobs, exchanged views with the heads of the six Bavarian art colleges on current challenges and the future development of the art education landscape in Bavaria.
The Bavarian Art Colleges Association is an alliance of the six state-funded Bavarian art colleges. The aim of the association is to represent common interests, strengthen cross-institutional exchange and develop prospects for the future.
The meeting centred on the presentation of a vision document drawn up jointly by the six Bavarian art universities. In it, the association sets out key perspectives, areas for action and requirements for the further development of the art universities, such as the framework conditions for artistic teaching and research, as well as the challenges arising from digital, social and cultural change
The network members used the meeting to present the key content and objectives of the vision paper to Head of Department Stephanie Jacobs and to discuss with her the resulting political and structural issues.
“Direct dialogue with art colleges is of great importance. They are places of artistic innovation, critical reflection and social debate. The vision paper presented today provides important impetus for further discussion,” explained Head of Department Stephanie Jacobs.
The vision paper was officially presented for the first time during the meeting and has now been published on the association’s website.
