The University of Music Würzburg mourns the loss of its former colleague Ingeborg Russ (* 20.09.1942 - 12.06.2023).

On June 12, 2023, the singer Ingeborg Russ passed away. She was a lecturer in vocal performance at the University of Music in Würzburg from 1979 to 1983. Ingeborg Ruß was one of the leading contralto singers in the oratorio and concert field and made a name for herself with her Bach recordings, among other things. After her time in Würzburg, she taught for a long time as a professor at the Detmold Academy of Music.

We will honor the memory of Ingeborg Ruß.
