Michael Szykulski received his first musical education at the Music School in Wroclaw and at the Music High School in Wroclaw (Conservatory) with Adam Nowak. After graduating from high school, he studied at the University of Music in Poznan in the class of Professor Igor Chaczbabian from 1978 to 1981. From 1981 to 1986 he studied at the Würzburg Conservatory in the class of Professor Boris Goldstein. He attended numerous master classes with Henrik Szeryng, Nathan Milstein, Ida Hendel and Rugiero Ricci, among others. Since 1997 he has been teaching at the Würzburg Musikhochschule, first as assistant to Professor Grigori Zhislin, with whom he conducted many master classes in Europe. Since 1998 he has been the artistic director of the International Master Classes Schloss Zell an der Pram, which since 2016 have continuously taken their location at the University of Wroclaw. An International Violin and Chamber Music Competition is held simultaneously with the courses. As a chamber musician and soloist he performed, among others, together with Oliver Szykulski with the Kaliningrad Symphony Orchestra in Berlin, In the "Teatro de Bogota" in Colombia, and the world famous "Oratorio Marianum" of Wroclaw University. His former students are members and concertmasters in numerous orchestras. In recent years, his youngest pre-collegiate students have received several first federal prizes in the "Jugend Musiziert" competition and have been accepted into the Federal Youth Orchestra.
