Ryuzo Seko

Ryuzo Seko was born in Japan in 1988 and received his first piano lessons from Miyako Inoue at the age of five. Before studying music, he studied economics at the University of Tokyo. In the fall of 2013, he began his bachelor's programme in piano at the University of Music and Theatre in Munich with Professor Thomas Böckheler. After an excellent bachelor's programme, he first successfully completed the master's degree in Lied Design with Rudi Spring, and then went on to earn a master's degree in piano with Professor Thomas Böckheler. In autumn 2013, he began his bachelor's degree in piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich with Professor Thomas Böckheler. After an excellent Bachelor's degree, he obtained two Master's degrees: one in song composition with Rudi Spring and another in piano, also with Professor Thomas Böckheler, both with honours.
Ryuzo Seko has actively participated in masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Elisso Virsaladze, Anne Queffélec, Anna Barutti, Markus Bellheim, Matthias Kirschnereit, Herbert Schuh and Oliver Kern. Since 2017, he has been supported by the foundation of the Yehudi Menuhin - Live Music Now Munich organisation. In September 2023, he was the official piano accompanist for the ARD double bass competition.
Ryuzo Seko has been a lecturer at the Würzburg University of Music since autumn 2018. Since 2025, he also works been as a lecturer for special tasks at the Mainz University of Music.
