Joachim F. W. Schneider

Joachim F.W. Schneider has received several national and international awards, including first prize at the II International Uuno Klami Composition Competition in Finland, the Bavarian State Prize and the European Composers' Prize. He has been on scholarship at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.
His works have been performed by renowned soloists, ensembles and orchestras (including Sol Gabetta, the Berkeley Symphony Orchestra, the Lapland Chamber Orchestra, the Kymi Sinfonietta, the Munich Chamber Orchestra and the Ensemble Modern) and are performed in Europe, the USA and Canada. He has worked with conductors Kent Nagano, John Storgårds, Yasuo Shinozaki, and Jonathan Stockhammer , among others.
At the PreCollege of the HfM Würzburg, Schneider is a member of the leadership team and teaches music theory and composition. He also teaches music composition in the excellence branch of the Matthias-Grünewald-Gymnasium Würzburg.
