Prof. Domenico Orlando

Domenico Orlando has been principal oboist of the Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig since 2009. In his career, he has been successful in numerous prestigious competitions; such as the Tomassini di Petritoli Competition or the Tokyo International Competition. Domenico Orlando has made guest appearances in renowned concert halls, such as La Scala in Milan or the Academy of Santa Cecilia, and is a sought-after musician of world-renowned orchestras. He has worked with conductors such as Nelsons, Blomstedt, Pappano and Kent Nagano, to name but a few.
Domenico Orlando combines his performances with an ongoing teaching and lecturing activity, holding master classes in Italy, Great Britain, Spain and Japan.
In the winter semester 2021/22 Domenico Orlando will take up the professorship for oboe at the HfM Würzburg.
