Markus Trabusch

Markus Trabusch is a director, dramaturge and artistic director. He studied human medicine, comparative literature, German studies and history in Freiburg, Berlin and Munich (M.A. 1995, LMU Munich). He has worked at the Schauspielhaus Zürich, the Münchner Kammerspiele, the Staatstheater Stuttgart, the Brussels State Opera and the Frankfurt Opera, among others. From 2000 to 2007, he was head of drama and directing training at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, and from 2007 to 2014 he was acting director and deputy artistic director at the Staatstheater Augsburg. He has been artistic director of the Mainfranken Theatre Würzburg since the 2016/17 season. Important productions in Würzburg include Lessing's Nathan the Wise, Rossini's The Barber of Seville and Verdi's Rigoletto .
