For a whole week, universities, cultural institutions and initiatives in Würzburg are joining forces to take a stand against antisemitism – with talks, exhibitions, music, films, guided tours and workshops. The events are open to anyone interested.
Anti-Semitism is not a problem of the past. In Würzburg, too, anti-Semitic incidents are on the rise again — in schools and universities, online, on the streets and right at the heart of society. Since 7 October 2023, the situation for Jewish people has noticeably worsened.
We — Würzburg’s universities, cultural institutions and civil society initiatives — are standing up to this together. Over the course of a week, talks, exhibitions, concerts, guided tours and workshops will showcase the diversity of Jewish life, explore the origins of anti-Semitism and highlight what each and every one of us can do to combat it.
Because observing, naming and challenging it is not a task for experts alone. It starts with all of us — in the lecture theatre, at the kitchen table, in the neighbourhood. Come along, listen, get involved.
The HfM Würzburg is taking part in two events:
Sunday, 25 November 2026: Opening event at the Johanna Stahl Centre
Wednesday, 28 November 2026: Musik Publik in the Chamber Music Hall
