Violin student Roberta Verna (class of Prof. Herwig Zack) faced a great challenge at the audition for the Bavarian State Opera's Orchestra Academy in Munich. The young musician and winner of the City of Würzburg's Cultural Promotion Prize has already won many awards. As a winner of the German Musical Instrument Fund competition, she performs on a violin by Antonio Stradivari (Cremona, 1703).
The Orchestra Academy of the Bavarian State Opera Munich was founded in 2002 with the aim of "passing on the centuries-old tradition of one of the oldest German orchestras to young musicians". Young musicians are given the opportunity to gain orchestral experience under professional conditions, particularly in opera literature with its specific requirements, but also in the symphonic field.
